How to Send & Receive Bitcoin in a Multisig Vault
Once your multisig vault is set up, you can start sending and receiving Bitcoin. Here's how the process works.
Receiving Bitcoin
To receive Bitcoin into your Evoke Vault, simply share your vault's receive address. You can find this in your Evoke dashboard. Each time you receive funds, Evoke will generate a fresh address for privacy though previous addresses remain valid.
Sending Bitcoin
Sending Bitcoin from your multisig vault requires two of your three keys to sign the transaction:
- Initiate the transaction. Enter the recipient address and the amount you'd like to send from your Evoke dashboard.
- Sign with your first key. Connect your hardware wallet and approve the transaction on the device. Verify the address and amount on your hardware wallet's screen.
- Sign with your second key. Connect your second key and approve the transaction again. Once two signatures are collected, the transaction is broadcast to the Bitcoin network.
Security best practices
- Always verify the recipient address on your hardware wallet's screen — not just on your computer
- Double-check the amount before approving
- Start with a small test transaction if sending to a new address
- Be aware of clipboard malware that could swap Bitcoin addresses
Security note: Your hardware wallet's screen is your trusted source of truth. Malware on your computer can change what you see in the browser, but it cannot change what's displayed on the hardware wallet itself.
